- OS: Mac
- Homebrew has been installed (for instructions click HERE)
Open up a terminal
Use brew to install postgress
brew install postgres
Create the LaunchAgent Directory
mkdir -p ~/Library/LaunchAgents
Create a symbolic link to the postgres plist (property list) file
ln -sfv /usr/local/opt/postgresql/*.plist ~/Library/LaunchAgents
Load the plist into the launch control service.
launchctl load ~/Library/LaunchAgents/homebrew.mxcl.postgresql.plist
Your PostgreSQL should now start up automatically when your Mac starts up.
Verify that postgres got installed
